I first met my personal trainer, Barbara Steinmetz, back in 2017 when I realized that I needed to find someone who knew what it was like to live in a plus-size body, who wanted to become fit & strong, and who could help me become more active in the body

I first met my personal trainer, Barbara Steinmetz, back in 2017 when I realized that I needed to find someone who knew what it was like to live in a plus-size body, who wanted to become fit & strong, and who could help me become more active in the body I was living in.
We hit it off right away and so began our journey of health, fitness & discovery!
Over the years, Barbara and I have been on quite the journey together. She has seen me through 2 of my 4 knee surgeries on the same knee. She helped me ease back into training during and after PT sessions had ended.
In 2021, Barbara introduced me to a new form of exercise that she discovered & was participating in called “rolling classes”. (AKA The Fascination Method)
I was very intrigued to learn more about this method since I saw what it was doing to help Barbara and what a change it was making in her life.
I wanted to feel that too!
I took the plunge & took my first class with Barbara, and I was hooked. I’m not going to lie; it was a little bit of a struggle the first few months learning to put my plus-size body through the movements and to not get discouraged, but I am SO GLAD I stuck it out! Barbara knew what it was like to through that, and she supported me every step of the way, NEVER letting me feel alone in what I was going through and helped me modify my movements as needed.
Since I’ve been taking The Fascination Method classes 3 times a week, I no longer have knee issues with my “bad” knee or even my “good” knee. Anytime I have muscle issues with my body, a great rolling class is just what my body needs. At the end of class, I am so relaxed and am able to fall asleep more quickly at night.
Barbara is an AMAZING teacher and are very supportive and listen to their client’s needs and help them overcome any issues they have.
Incorporating The Fascination Method together with my strength training, walking and Keto lifestyle, I have been able to lose 50 lbs. so far and my body has NEVER felt better.
It has now been a few months since we are working together. I came to you to strengthen my body as it was
becoming harder for me to do many things and I’d wake up hurting. Instead of strength training we
started on fascia rolling so my muscles had the capability to move better and strengthen. To tell you

becoming harder for me to do many things and I’d wake up hurting. Instead of strength training we
started on fascia rolling so my muscles had the capability to move better and strengthen. To tell you
the truth I thought this was kind of crazy. Yet, as I got better at it (by the way this is really a workout in
itself) and did it more often I noticed some changes in my body. Suddenly aches and pains were
disappearing, swelling in my body seemed to disappear and I was not hurting as much in the mornings.
Yes some of these feelings do come back and again you ‘d have me do the rolling routine and again it
proved to make me feel better. Well, now you have convinced me and I work on rolling whenever my
body starts to act up and it calms down. Yes now I am ready to continue this fascia rolling on my own
and move on with additional stretching and strengthening training.

Dealing with Parkinson's Disease comes with many issues. Besides the symptoms and medications comes the tightness, muscle rigidity and the inability to be able to walk and move freely. I workout twice a week with Barbara and we work on strength, balance , mobility and flexibility. She also introduced me to "ROLLING". Due to poor posture and rounding shoulders my head has a very bad forward tilt. This causes my back and neck to tighten which causes pain. Barbara rolls these areas with The Fasicanator Roller and within minutes I am loose again in those areas.My range of motion when moving my head increases and I am able to lift my head.
I know that this posture may get worse I am able to roll these areas on a regular basis to get relief from pain. This is something that is becoming a part of my everyday wellness routine with Barbara.
